COSMETICS & PERSONAL CARE

Provital

Barbera del Valles (Barcelona), Spain · Established 1979

Nature and science, captured in every active ingredient.

Provital has spent more than four decades developing natural active ingredients and botanic extracts for the cosmetic industry, with in-house R&D, formulation, toxicology and regulatory affairs teams standing behind every product family. The regulatory affairs department is the detail that matters most: it means claim and compliance questions are answered by the manufacturer rather than deferred.

The company operates two core ranges. CareActives are high-efficacy actives supported by in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro studies. CareMotives are natural botanic extracts, organised into sub-families each targeting a distinct formulation need. Both sit alongside BE TECH, the company's in-house innovation platform.

Over 400 mineral salts and more than 7,000 specifications. The specification count is the more meaningful number: it is the measure of how far a grade can be tailored.

ABOUT THIS PRINCIPAL

Four decades of botanical actives, with the science department attached.

Provital was founded in 1979 and internationalised early, opening Provital France near Paris in 1994. The headquarters moved to Barbera del Valles in 2000, and subsidiaries followed in Mexico in 2002, Poland in 2004, Germany in 2009, Brazil in 2010 and China in 2012. The company marked its fortieth anniversary in 2019 with a ten-year strategic plan, and opened a United States office in 2023.

The scientific model is vertical. R&D, formulation, toxicology, analytical support and regulatory affairs all sit in-house, which is why the CareActives range arrives with study data and a claim substantiation position rather than a supplier promising to look into it.

CareMotives, the botanic extract range, is organised into sub-families including OilyCares, ImagineCares, VitaCares, SparkCares and EcoCares, each addressing a distinct formulation requirement rather than presenting extracts as an undifferentiated list.

An in-house regulatory affairs department changes the relationship. Compliance questions get answered by the people who made the material, not relayed through a distributor to a mailbox.

ADCHEM distributes the Provital range with formulation integration and claim review from our own laboratories, so a CareActives selection arrives as a tested prototype with the substantiation position already checked against your target market.

FEATURED TECHNOLOGY

The portfolio divides cleanly, which makes selection faster than it is with most botanical suppliers.

ACTIVES

CareActives

High-efficacy active ingredients validated with in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro studies, supplied with full regulatory and marketing claim documentation. This is the range that carries the claim.

EXTRACTS

CareMotives

Natural botanic extracts organised into OilyCares, ImagineCares, VitaCares, SparkCares and EcoCares sub-families, each targeting a distinct formulation need rather than a generic botanical position.

INNOVATION

BE TECH

Provital's platform for ongoing technology innovation across the ingredient portfolio, and the route through which new mechanisms and delivery approaches reach the commercial range.

IN-HOUSE SCIENCE

Toxicology and regulatory affairs

A dedicated regulatory affairs department alongside in-house toxicology and analytical support, so safety and compliance documentation is produced by the manufacturer rather than assembled after the fact.

WORKING WITH ADCHEM

What ADCHEM adds to the Provital relationship.

CLAIM-LED SELECTION

Active selection against the claim

We start from the claim you intend to defend and the market you intend to defend it in, then select the active whose study data actually supports it.

SAMPLE PLUS PROTOTYPE

Formulation integration in our own labs

Actives integrated into a tested finished prototype, so what you approve is a formula rather than a concept.

MARKET-SPECIFIC REVIEW

Regulatory review before launch

Provital's documentation reviewed against the restricted substance and claim rules of your destination market before the product goes into production.

AUTO-ATTACHED VIA COSMO

Full documentation with every sample
