Natural formulation fails in predictable places: the preservation system, the oxidative stability of the oil phase, and the emulsion holding together for the whole shelf life. Cosphatec exists to solve those three problems using biodegradable raw materials of predominantly natural origin.
Founded in Hamburg in 2005, the company positions itself as a technical point of contact rather than a catalogue supplier, working alongside brands and start-ups to develop natural formulations rather than selling them an ingredient and stepping back.

Cosphatec's portfolio is built around stability in its three practical forms: microbiological stability, oxidative stability, and physical stability of the emulsion and its viscosity. Each range exists to replace a synthetic stabiliser with a plant-derived alternative that performs at the same level rather than at an acceptable compromise.
The raw material policy is explicit and restrictive. Parabens, silicones, GMO-derived material, microplastics and aggressive chemistry are excluded, and inputs are biodegradable and predominantly of sustainable natural origin. For a brand writing a clean formulation charter, that starting position removes a significant amount of screening work.
The company operates from Hamburg with an office in Shanghai and a network of international sales partners, and supports customers with challenge testing and formulation guidance rather than documentation alone.
Preservation is where most natural formulation projects stall. A supplier that runs challenge testing with you is worth more than one that sends a datasheet with a recommended use level.
